Ms. Smith will be speaking on the topics of Transfer Pricing, R & D tax credits and Tangible Property Regulations.
Amy has 20 years of experience, 18 in public accounting and 2 in private practice. She started her career at Arthur Andersen, LLP as a tax staff. Amy was previously a partner with Argy, Wiltse & Robinson PC (now BDO) in McLean, VA. Amy joined Hughes Pittman & Gupton, LLP in June 2008 and became partner in 2013.
Amy has worked with both public and non-public companies. Amy's primary focus includes tax compliance and consulting services for companies in a variety of industries, including manufacturing and distribution, high technology, biotech and pharmaceuticals, healthcare, government contractors, and professional and technical service providers. Her experience in these industries includes multistate and international tax compliance, accounting for income taxes under ASC 740, implementation of and updates to ASC 740-10 and implementation of tax planning strategies for changes in accounting methods, mergers and acquisitions, choice of entity, credit maximization, built-in gains for S Corporations and cash flow planning. In addition, Amy has experience working with nonprofit entities and executives working on international assignments.
Amy is our lead partner for both our transfer pricing and state and local tax teams. In addition, she is a member of our international service line team.
